Info-system as a contractor of Intitute of Oceanlogy (Polish Academy of Science) has made an application to handle a marine probe (SEA-BIRD CTD plus 911). Program is used on Oceania – a scientific yacht.
Application features
- Application runs on Windows and Linux systems.
- GPS data collection - position, time (port configuration possible in case of changing the device)
- Reading data from the probes - temperature, pressure, conductivity, salinity (connection configuration possible)
- Real time chart plotting from all collected data (temperature and salinity).
- Real time chart plotting of single probe "go" (temperature and salinity).
- Scaling the chart Using color palettes (created in another program)
- Storing of the collected data in a file
- Loading a file with archive data (it is possible to continue data collection)
- Audible alarms when the probe is approaching the bottom or the surface.
Application was created in just 96 hours. Zero bugs reported so far, application is used nonstop on two week cruises, which are organized every two months.
